Dear Prof. Howard:
As one of your former Grad students this comes as a surprise to me. I am Yaw Akoto and completed my Sc.D. dissertation 30 years ago under your supervision. I know it has been a while since I left MIT and have had the opportunity to visit the Chem Eng Dept only a few more times. I am currently based in Ghana, West Africa and still practicing in the energy field. When I heard of your illness, I immediately called a fellow Grad Student - Dr. Yaw Yeboah who also did his dissertation under your supervision. We could say only VERY GOOD things about you and how you helped us through our student days at MIT.
Sometimes it is difficult to understand this complex world of ours. Every event or moment has its purpose and the Lord knows best. May the Good Lord bless you.
